Our First Encounter

I realize that this post isn't particularly funny or interesting to most people so i'll make it short. BUT it is necessary. 

....This is at 9th grade camping trip when I was new and this is the first time we ever met! 

This is on the bus ride home...notice I'm sitting with someone else. (We were not best friends till like half way through the year)

Ya I mean I guess I was pretty awkward.

This is a picture of some of the kids on our trip and the tepees that we slept in! (Aspen and I were assigned the same tepee and that's how we met!!)...sounds like a story told at a wedding haha

Anyway this was crucial to our friendship so I thought I'd share!

P.S. One night on the trip (when I was still a stranger to most people) I sat up and yelled "mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom" in my sleep....making friends all over the place.....NOT

Winter Formal

Aspen and I had our last winter formal on Saturday....So sad!

We were talking about how it is remarkable how awful we can look and what a difference a shower and some make up can make.

Aspen and the Elephants

I think you all are ready to see this. It's kind of a big deal. Most importantly it explains why Aspen posted a whole thing about elephants. 


Background to the video: 

Aspen saw a picture of an elephant online and cried. She hadn't seen a live one in years and so her sister bought her a gift card to the zoo for Christmas. 9 months later, she worked up the strength to actually see live elephants. And this my friends, is what happened. Watch the whole thing.

A Day in the life of aspen's google searches

Guess what this post is going to be about?










Yep you guessed it. Elephants are on the mind.

so anyways, would you like to see my train of google searches this morning ? they were especially fruitful.

It all started with my regular stop at National Geographic's picture of the day
which took me here

and then naturally i had to look up the queleas that are in this photo
which led me here

Those things are CRAZY !! that's pretty much from my worst nightmare.

and then i got led here,

 i have to limit myself to 2 elephant videos a day or else all hell would break loose inside my brain and my heart would be too full with love to function and i would have a melt down and use all my money to buy a plane ticket to India or Asia or somewhere with elephants. so then i exited out of youtube and went here:

This is Faa Mai but I call her jules. She has a five head, but only cause she is smart. she is VERY hairy and pretty dirty, she ain't one to shower. Her name means "A New Day" and I luhh her ! She has an adopted sister named Faa Sai...

Meet Faa Sai ( also known occasionally as aspen) her name means "Clear Sky After A Storm".

A peek into sophomore year...

So  during sophomore year aka our time in the clinker this is honestly how we sometimes felt about each other. Enjoy.

When Jules and I take notes, this is what is usually looks like. 

but One day in a far away land a mr. king cake was created during a game of add on. it is just such an improvement from our usual scribbles and we are so very proud, can you tell?

Jules thinks I look like Timone, and with this unfortunate picture, i don't really have much of a case against it.

Wednesday YKYARBW

We know that you've been wondering just what exactly rock bottom is...We are here to tell you!
It started sophomore year. To paint the picture we were enrolled in a class taught be a serial killer, (a post about this to come...) we were in a bit of boy dry spell (to put it lightly), and we felt no social obligations whatsoever. None. Zero. Squat.
So one day Aspen and Jules realized that there is a name for the place of nothingness that we were temporarily(although at the time it did not seem temporary) inhabiting. ROCK BOTTOM.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months we realized that rock bottom was not going anywhere. So we made a calendar for each day of the year with a thought about rock bottom. We called it You Know You're At Rock Bottom When....

Here is one. Because we hope that it will brighten your day, like they did ours. So many times.
