College. Actually.

The time you have all been waiting for is finally here.....(get it? cause no one has been waiting expect us...)  WE ARE ACTUALLY AT COLLEGE.

So last night I got a call from the one and only Aspen Johnson. It was different than the other 49,386,932,948 times that this has happened because this time, the call was coming from Oregon. My best friend, and sister lives 769.2 miles away from me so there's that. BUT, aside from all of this heart wrenching sadness, we are both having the experience of our lives. Aspen is killing it at L&C. They love her, and I know this because a) how could ANYONE not, and b) I can tell from the stories. I have 6th sense you know. Meanwhile, I am at the U and I could not be more surprised at what life is like. Well that's not completely true. Some things are just like the movies, but they don't show the breaking down and moments of panic enough in Hollywood. Life is still the same though, so let this be a lesson kids, no matter where you are, no mater how alone you feel, if you have played your cards right you will have a best friend somewhere cheering you on, and hoping that you are happy. College only happens once, (unless you get a master degree or a PhD or go to med school, then it never really ends) so LIVE. IT. UP. Here is to college, best friends having amazing experiences with or even without you, and the most cheesy blog post of all time, because yes, I'm just a cheesy guy.

The Good Old Days

As high school graduates I think that it is only fair that we reminisce a little about a simpler time. I stumbled upon this gem recently and I thought it deserved to be floating on the internet. Pictures from graduation coming soon. Happy Friday everyone.

Trippin...Senior Style

Aspen and I just returned from the magical land of Moab! We spent three days there with our graduating class for our senior trip. It was....a lot of things. So first of all Aspen and I both have extensive histories with camping and even river rafting specifically, but we were sort of out of our element at first. You see, we had to do some physical exercise (paddling in a 2 man ducky) and by the end of the first day we have never been so hungry. Also Aspen missed her phone and TV a surprising amount, given that she claims to be all naturey and what not ;) BUT  we did have some awesome adventures and the scenery was fabulous. Aspen had a waterproof (kodak-must-be-developed) camera so stay tuned for greatness there....

Here is my personal favorite picture from the trip. Sorry pennyyyyy

Call Ledge

So College. It is this thing that kids our age are all into. We don't know why. No we don't. But, for the sake of fitting in, we gave it a go. I am pleased to report that we were both excepted to at least 1 college. yay. Now that I think about it, the point of this blog so that when we are ripped apart by college we can keep in touch. As if texting, snap chat, facebook, sky ping, phone calls and the occasional e-mail won't be enough. So, my best friend and dearest sister Aspen has applied to 18 ish colleges. For you people who are lucky enough to not know what that entails, well it is hell on earth. That is a crap load of applications people. Not to mention the separate applications to honors programs and for scholarships. Basically she is a rock star. She has been in phase 7 of the process which is visiting the colleges you have been accepted to and this weekend she is in O-R-E-G-O-N!!! And loving it I hear! Here is a shout out to the 2 in Oregon that she will probably choose between.

Perfect that Willamette is known for their sustainability because so is Aspen!!!

Oh and it is gorgeous. From the pictures I could view on the Google.

I mean they are both pretty amazing.

Aspen I am 100% of very few things in life but here are a few:

I am 100% sure that you will love college at either of these schools.
I am 100% sure that even if I was wrong about the first one that you will learn and grow in some way from your experience there.
I am 100% sure that your heart will grow while you are there....it can't be stopped at this point.
I am 100% sure that your swim team will be so glad you joined. Cause let's be honest those fools are going to eat your bubbles.
I am 100% sure you will become even MORE hipster/granola/nature woman but somehow I'll find a way to love you through it.
And finally,
I am 100% sure that I will miss you every day at college but be 100% grateful for all the ways that you have changed me every day that I have known you. LOVE YOU SO MUCH IT HURTS. Good luck choosing. It is a win win from here on out. You really are the best.

Senior Project 2013

Sometimes the things we see start to shape us.
And the things we shield our eyes from
                                        tend to do the same.

Meet Autumn.

We share parents — we share a voice — we share a strong love — and this project is about the feelings we shared on those days that changed us.

Our best friend Lismore is a go-getter as I mentioned before. She orchestrated and completely created a fundraiser for the organization Operation Smile. basically watch the link and then text "SMILE" 90999 to donate 5 little dollars. It's not a mystery where your dough is going. Its changing lives people. Help those kiddies today. Thanks. Over and out.

Carol

So a little while ago I hacked into Aspen's facebook account and changed her name to Carol. She hates the name Carol  and so it was endlessly funny. As it turns out, she was sick that day and didn't think it was so funny. Special thanks to Autumn for helping me.

Also Aspen couldn't figure out how to change it back so she stayed Carol Johnson for a while. Jokes.

The final Finals

Hi guys. This is our friend Lismore. She's the greatest thing since sliced bread. She is my fellow yearbook Editor and just all around the best. We are studying for our poetry final tomorrow. Well sorta. It is our last finals week EVER at Waterford because seniors don't have to take spring term finals. Crazy but so exciting!!

So in other news I got rejected from my first college. That felt reeeeeeal good. As you can imagine. Whatever though, life goes on. lalalalala la. life goes on.

Have a good day,

yours truly,

MEXICO

So I went to Mexico over Christmas break. Enjoy some of the beautiful gems, and the not so beautiful ones.

We ate like kings. Then got stomach flu and threw it all up. Yay.

This guy sat next to me for a whole day. I'm ashamed to admit that I could not deduce if his trip was business or pleasure in nature. But I did notice the Hitler stache. Call me Sherlock.
